Hey guys, I hope you started out 2014 as well as I did! The good thing about new years is not only the partying, but also the introduction of new model series at all our favorite guitar manufacturers. Fender also has some really awesome new stuff coming out in their new Fender 2014 collection. Specifically their custom shop has some great new high-class guitars that were just announced yesterday.
As one might expect, the Custom Shop Fender 2014 Collection is dominated by Stratocasters! There are five new strats coming out of the custom shop. Three further Telecasters, a Jazzmaster and two Precision Basses for all our four-stringed friends out there complete the new Fender 2014 collection. All of these instruments are handmade with superior materials and manufacturing quality. As I’m a big fan of Fender’s relic series (the ones who are made to be old and are said to resonate even better because of the thin lacquer) so these are the most exciting to me. Check out Fender’s announcement to see for yourself and pick your favorite!
My Favorites of the Fender 2014 Collection
It’s the 50th anniversary of this classic stratocaster from 1964, so this one is most exciting for me. It is available in a beautiful sunburst finish, has an alder body and 21 vintage-style frets.
This one is a real gem: it has the real 1956 look and feel to it and I’m really excited to play this one. It has a bigger 9.5″ radius which I prefer, so I will definitely check this one out.
These are the successors of Fender’s Pro Series that have some modern-style advantages to them. For me the most interesting things are the easy-access neck-joint and the medium jumbo frets.
